Do You Have A Burning Desire For Something More?

With all the changes going on in the world, it seems everyone is looking for work that is more meaningful that allows more flexibility especially in terms of passion, time, and earning potential. Many are choosing to become online entrepreneurs.

But what does it mean to have a burning desire? There are several key elements to being a successful online entrepreneur and having a burning desire is one of them.

Some describe it as a feeling of passion, an intensity of energy or a strong sense of determination.

Actually, all of those definitions are correct. A burning desire is having a passion for something with an intensity of energy that your determination is unstoppable.

To understand what a burning desire is you only have to look at those that have made the impossible… possible.

- Althea Gibson was an African American tennis player, who rose from the violence-filled life on the streets of Harlem to the distinguished courts of Wimbledon.

- Kristi Yamaguchi, born with club feet and prescribed ice skating as physical therapy, won the 1992 Olympics. She was the first American woman to win the Olympics in figure skating since 1976.

- J.K. Rawlins went from surviving off of government assisted living to becoming one of the richest people in the world. She did so by creating the Harry Potter teenage wizard book series.

- Oprah Winfrey was born in the South and though she had a fairly traumatic childhood, rose up to become a prominent talk show host and businesswoman.

What do all of these women entrepreneurs have in common…a burning desire for something more. A burning desire with an intensity of energy that their determination was unstoppable.

It’s not to say that they didn’t make mistakes along the way…but the mistakes they made never got in their way!

Their burning desire was fueled by tapping into that inner force, that fierce focused energy deep within… backed by faith. You know you have it when it doesn’t matter what others say, what they think you can do, or if they try to hold you back…because your going to do it anyway.

This is worth repeating…you are going to do it anyway.

Have you every had a moment like that?

Can you ever remember a feeling like that? Sure you have…we all have!

I remember when I decided to return to school. I only had an eighth grade education but I was making really great money selling real estate. When I announced I was going to go back to school and get my degree, everyone tried to get me to focus on what I would be leaving rather than what I would be creating for my future.

When they found out that I would have to get my high school diploma first before being able to attend college, well frankly they thought I was flat out crazy. What I heard most was, “but look at how much money your making in real estate…you don’t want to give that up.” What everyone overlooked was the fact that selling real estate was not my passion anymore…and I was only doing for the money. Everyday it became harder and harder to go to work.

I thought long and hard about making a commitment to my education. I had a burning desire to go back to school. It wasn’t easy in the beginning and I was faced with a variety of huge challenges along the way. But all that didn’t matter…because I wanted this more than anything. I wanted something more for myself!

I only tell this story to illustrate a point …it’s that kind of focused energy that I’m referring to. It doesn’t matter what obstacle gets in your way either because…you will find a way around it, under it, over it, or you will just blast right through it! A burning desire is when you want something so bad that no excuse will stop you. You take on an attitude that is unstoppable and you respond to challenges rather than letting them define you…

- not enough money… that won’t stop you!

- can’t find a babysitter… you’ll manifest one!

- don’t have spare time…  give up something else to create it!

- not enough education… who cares, do it anyway!

- need a positive support system… join a mastermind group!
